Jatin Kumar, former Assistant Director- NABH, Quality Council of India, Delhi possess 14 years of experience in the field of in Health, Safety, Environment & Quality Management, Accreditation Risk Management, Hospital Operations, P&L and Data Analysis. At NABH he has handled Hospital accreditation program, nursing excellence program and was the member secretary of accreditation committee. He has drafted the clinical establishment act standards for the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MOHFW).
He is well versed with implementation of Quality tools to enhance patient safety, achieve financial benefits & augmenting hospital operations. Trained in NABH Hospital Standards, Pre Entry, Nursing Excellence, ISO 9001 & 14001 & 45001 standards. Well versant with ISO, JCI & QAI standards. Certified Transplant coordinator. He has worked with both Government & Private corporate hospitals. Under Government sector he has worked with Government of Gujarat and handled 1500 bedded Medical college and hospital at Jamnagar, Gujarat. Among the private sector he has worked with the best corporate hospitals like Columbia Asia Hospitals, Gurgaon as Sr. Manager – Operations where he has headed departments like Quality, Laboratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy & Customer care. Implemented Quality tools to improve patients safety. At Fortis Hospital- Noida as Head Quality, Medanta- The Medicity, Gurgaon. He also worked with a consultancy firm and handled NABH & NABL accreditation projects across India.
Currently Jatin is working with India’s Largest Private Employer - “Quess Corp Limited, Bangalore”, as Assistant Vice President- Strategic HR & HSEQ where he is leading the Strategic HR (policy formulation) and Quality Assurance along with Health, Safety & Environment, Training and development vertical Pan India for the Integrated Facility Management division (Operating Asset Management). He has launched the UVC products under new innovation. He has designed and conducted training courses in health and hospital management in both onsite and virtual mode. Operational efficiency score card, Quality Assurance scorecard, Safety scorecard, Training dashboards, Brand services standards are few initiatives which has been started by him. He has received the Rising star award at Quess Corp recently in Nov 2020.
His last assignment was with Metro Hospital and Cancer Research Centre, Jabalpur, as a Chief Operating Officer where he has lead the entire Quality & accreditation department, Patients safety, Building safety & Fire safety. He has also lead the separate vertical for standalone blood bank. Incorporated tracing of all the quality indicators and quality processes along with RCA, CAPA in inhouse developed software.
He is fond of conducting Quality improvement projects and later converting these projects into research paper and in this series he has published research paper on “Use of checklists prevents errors during surgeries” and “fire safety in health care organizations” in the inaugural issue of AIIMS and AHA journal respectively. Couple of papers are under publication with various journals. He is QIMPRO certified Examiner for the QIMPRO awards. Currently he is serving as Member Secretary of the “Technical committee for Hotel & Homestays”, Quality & Accreditation Institute, Noida where the task allocated is to come up with the accreditation standards for Hotel & Homestays. This shall be the first accreditation program towards Hospitality industry in India.
He possesses strengths of multitasking and decision making skills. With excellent leadership skills and easy going team player qualities lead various NABH, Nursing excellence, Pre- Accreditation entry Level, ISO 9001, 14001 audits.
He has received 2nd Prize for performing well in RSBY project in District, from Health Commissioner, Dept. of Health and Family Welfare, Gujarat, July 2009. Presented a paper on “Japanese Patent System- the Emerging Market for Pharmaceutical Industry” at National Conference Pradanya- 2007, IHMR, Jaipur, Dec, 2007 and participated in a Exercise conducted during Regional Public Health Pre-deployment Course organized by WHO/SEARO at IHMR, Jaipur.

Jatin has finished his MBA in hospital Management from Institute of Health Management Research (IHMR), Jaipur after completing is graduation in Medical Microbiology. He is currently pursuing his Phd in Hospital & Health Management, from K.N.Modi University, Jaipur. He has completed three months dissertation on ‘Quality Assurance in Government Hospital’ at Guru Gobind Singh Hospital (Government of Gujarat), Jamnagar: February 2009 to April 2009. Also completed two months summer training at National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore. Worked on various Hospital Quality & Operations projects like Estimation of the average waiting time and consultation time in Psychiatry OPD & retrieve a case files in medical records department and bring it to neurology OPD, System Analysis of Mortuary Department including estimation of waiting time for autopsy & System analysis of Laundry Department. In addition he has completed six months Clinical Internship Training in Department of Microbiology at Safdarjung Hospital & Assoc. VMMC, New Delhi: October 2006 to April 2007. He was part of the Thirtieth National Disaster Preparedness Course for Hospitals’, Academy of Traumatology (India), British Council and British High Commission, Ahmedabad. He has coordinated and attended two days workshop on ‘Hospital Disaster Prevention Plan’ at G.G. Hospital, Jamnagar, 23-24 June 2009.
He has finished his Green belt Certification on Lean Health Care’ organized by Simpler and IIHMR and MDP on ‘Lean Health Care’ at IIHMR, New Delhi. He has regularly organized 10th National Quality Conclave on “Creating an Eco system for World Class Quality” and 2nd National Conclave of Accredited Organizations organized by Quality Council of India. Attended Program of Implementation (POI) on NABH standards- 3rd Edition organized by Fortis Healthcare and Quality Council of India and NABH awareness programme on AYUSH hospital organized by Quality Council of India, New Delhi.
