1.    What is Problem Solving?

  • Problems are embedded in processes. Some are sporadic while others are chronic. 
    Sporadic problems have alarm bells. The reactive action is to treat the symptom of the problem with quality-control tools.
    Chronic problems do not have alarm bells. Solving chronic problems in an organization requires proactive action to define the problem and find the root cause. It requires logical and/or creative thinking, a structured approach, as well as use of data and/or ideas for appropriate quality-improvement and/or creativity tools.

2.    What is improvement?

  • A structured Problem Solving methodology that uses logical left brain quality-improvement tools. Change is incremental and continuous. Over time, the change can be substantial. Process outputs are characterized by: Better, Cheaper, Faster.

  • A problem scheduled for solution.

4.    What is a Process?

  • A series of activities and tasks that deliver value across supplier departments, operations departments, and distribution departments until the output is received by the ‘user’. The output must satisfy the condition: Fitness for Use.

  • Middle Management project teams that have solved problems

10.   What are the benefits of participating?

  • Internal recognition of your middle management through projects shortlisted for the QualTech® Prize - Improvement and/or Innovation competitions
  • Possible external recognition of your project teams, as winners / runners-up of the QualTech® Prize(s)
  • Top projects invited to participate in the Global Benchmarking Network (GBN) Convention

  • The first step is to take prior management approval
  • The next step is to complete the online registration form
  • Payment is required before we can give access to the dashboard.

14.   What is your substitution policy?

  • You may substitute projects at any time before 15-Jun-2018.
  • An email with the change in project title is required.

15.   What is your cancellation policy?

  • Before 15-Jun-2018 - 50% of the participation fee.
  • After 15-Jun-2018 - 100% of the participation fee.

16.   What is the participation fee?

  • INR 25,000 + applicable taxes, per project
    This fee includes one project entry to the competition, as well one complimentary registration for the presenter on the day of the presentation only.

17.   Does the fee include travel and accommodation?

  • No

19.   What are the felicitation categories?

  • The Panel of Judges will select:
