| Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development a reputed educational institute for management studies in Pune was facing problems with its admission procedure. This project focuses on modifying the admission criteria for selecting the incoming batch of MBA students. The project goal was to reduce the percentage of misfits from 20% to 5 %. The rationale being that these 20% students were responsible for over 80% of the problems at the institute. A structured Continual Quality Improvement methodology was followed to tackle the problem. A brainstorming session was followed by a plotting of the resultant theories on a cause effect diagram. These theories were then tested and a root cause analysis carried out. The admission criteria were then modified based on the findings. |
