| Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, a reputed healthcare institution in New Delhi decided to implement continuous improvement and reducing costs in all operational areas in their effort to save resources and become globally competitive. This project focuses on improving effectiveness of their maintenance processes. The goal was energy conservation through reduction in electricity and fuel costs. The rationale being energy saved is energy generated. The quality improvement process was a combination of innovation, kaizen and some guidelines from the total productive maintenance model. Several projects were undertaken simultaneously from areas that needed improvement. The result was numerous tangible and intangible benefits. |
