Abstract
The Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Projects Group of Larsen & Toubro Limited, a leading Indian conglomerate, undertook a company wide Continual Quality Improvement initiative to enable them to become a world class organization. The project focuses on improving the effectiveness of project management in the group. The goal being to gear themselves up to combat the global challenge posed to them by the incoming multinationals. The methodology adopted was Large Scale Interactive Process (LSIP) to introduce change management processes at an accelerated rate and to simultaneously involve a large number of personnel to discuss debate and brainstorm issues to emerge with solutions. Various business processes were targeted and monitored. Measures of excellence were established for key processes to evaluate progress and to take corrective action.
